Responsibilities

Be a part of our organization supporting hyperscale distributed infrastructure for the cloud. Oracle’s Data Center team is rapidly expanding with new regions and sites across APAC. This job involves launching new sites, supporting their exponential growth, and team building across the organization, including recruiting, interviewing, and career development within the Data Center Organization.

We’re looking for an experienced leader with strong people management skills, business acumen, and well-rounded IT technical abilities (at scale) to lead the teams responsible for building and supporting our cloud data centers. The ideal candidate will possess all three attributes equally and be highly dedicated and hardworking.

  • Providing leadership, direction, and operational excellence within a subset of sites.
  • Working globally with peers to ensure consistency and minimize site variability.
  • Establishing and developing teams to meet operational requirements.
  • Collaborating with distributed teams and contributing to team and organizational success.
  • Coaching and mentoring managers and individual contributors, starting within your site.
  • Growing the team by recruiting and hiring top talent across diverse markets.
  • Delivering expansion projects on time with high quality standards.

Career Level - M3

This role manages multidisciplinary individual contributors within a Cloud Data Center environment. You should be an experienced manager of diverse teams, capable of navigating local customs, laws, and employment directives, with strong people management skills and deep technical knowledge of the physical aspects of IT Service Delivery.

Typical daily functions include:

  • Managing daily operations of all Data Center sites in your area, in a 24/7 mission-critical environment.
  • Ensuring timely delivery of services and tasks to meet project milestones.
  • Collaborating with project managers to guide their actions and provide on-the-ground support.
  • Upholding quality standards for new sites, regions, and deployments, acting as the gatekeeper.
  • Driving improvements and providing detailed feedback during project reviews and lessons learned activities.
  • Interacting across functional areas such as Engineering, Build, Site Selection, and Business Operations.
  • Managing incidents, driving resolution, and conducting after-action reviews.
  • Managing capacity expansions, including rack additions, whitespace growth, and new sites.
  • Driving recruitment efforts to build high-performing teams passionate about excellence.
  • Fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning.

  • Negotiating and coordinating with local vendors, driving performance and expectations.
