Job description

Perform activities related to the day-to-day administration and maintenance of transactional databases, ensuring that the database is available, performing properly, and secure. Perform installations, upgrades, patching, backup and recovery, performance tuning, security, monitoring, and configuration.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Overall responsible for DB administration, installation, and configuration of the database.
2. System maintenance, creating system backups, monitoring system performance.
3. Providing technical support and guidance.
4. Understanding ERP, MES, and other application DB system landscapes and processes.
5. Installing and upgrading the DB server and application tools.
6. Allocating system storage and planning future storage requirements.
7. Controlling and monitoring user access to the database.
8. Planning for backup and recovery of database information.
9. Identifying, analyzing requirements, and providing technical support for production systems and enhancements.
10. Collaborating with ERP/MES support teams on database activities, with knowledge of Tibero (Oracle-based).
11. Analyzing automation, monitoring, and tool gaps; designing and building solutions to address them.
12. Learning and adopting additional database technologies such as TIBERO, SAP, MySQL, MS-SQL, and providing support.
13. Expertise in Oracle, Tibero SQL tuning, and instance tuning.
14. Working with application teams on database tuning during design to deployment, including Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, RMAN, Data Guard, Tibero.
15. Supporting and maintaining backup and recovery processes.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Work Experience:

Minimum 5 years in DB administration (Oracle, Tibero); experience with other databases is a plus.

Job Requirements:

• Excellent communication skills (Advanced English level).
• Experience with middleware is a plus.
• Organizational and documentation skills; ability to interface with management and IT teams.
• Database design, development (SQL/PL/SQL), and performance tuning in complex, multi-platform environments; production support experience.
• Desired certifications: Oracle DB Admin Certified Associate, Professional, or Expert.
• Experience with TIBERO database, MCCS HA solutions.
• Preference given to candidates from the manufacturing sector, especially the automobile OEM industry.
• Technical certifications are a plus.
