About the Role:
Our client isseeking a highly experienced and results-oriented Director of Finance and Controller to lead our finance function. This pivotal role will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, with a strong emphasis on developing and maintaining robust costing systems and ensuring rigorous financial controls. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, capable of providing insightful financial analysis to support business decisions and drive profitability.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all aspects of the finance department, including accounting, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), treasury, tax, and internal controls.
- Develop, implement, and maintain accurate and efficient costing methodologies to provide detailed insights into product costs, operational efficiency, and profitability.
- Oversee the preparation and analysis of cost reports, variance analysis, and profitability analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Establish and enforce strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial information.
- Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
- Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and present financial statements, reports, and forecasts to senior management and stakeholders.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and monitor performance against budget, providing insightful variance analysis and recommendations for improvement.
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and treasury functions effectively.
- Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and manage tax planning and reporting.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support business initiatives.
- Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial institutions.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and systems.
- Provide strategic financial input and support to the executive team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance roles, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership position overseeing both finance and controlling functions.
- Demonstrable deep expertise in developing and implementing sophisticated costing systems and methodologies.
- Proven track record of establishing and maintaining strong financial control environments.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS or GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly and concisely to both financial and non-financial audiences.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to build and motivate high-performing teams.
- Proficiency in financial management software and ERP systems.
