Job description

Seeking a highly motivated and strategic Social Media Associate Director to join our team and develop comprehensive social media plans for our client. This role requires a blend of social media expertise, analytical skills, and social content strategy that drives social-first integration and measurable results, with a primary focus on enhancing effectiveness and efficiency between organic and owned boosting to bridge gaps between social always-on and integrated PA campaigns.

Core Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement data-driven social media strategies aligned with Google's marketing objectives and target audiences, encompassing paid, owned, and earned media approaches.
  2. Partner with internal and external teams to provide strategic input on the overall OPE direction of Google’s social media presence.
  3. Develop content amplification guidelines and strategies for owned social presence to help drive short- and long-term organic brand success.
  4. Conduct in-depth audience research and competitor analysis to identify social media trends, opportunities, and potential brand advocates.
  5. Manage and optimize social media campaigns, including paid advertising, organic content boosting, and influencer partnerships, across paid and owned activities for always-on and campaign periods.
  6. Analyze social media performance metrics and reporting to identify areas for improvement, demonstrate ROI, and measure the effectiveness of boosted organic activity.
  7. Stay up-to-date on the latest social media trends, platforms, algorithms, and influencer marketing landscapes.
  8. Collaborate with platforms and 1PD to create best practices for owned and paid media strategies on social media to inform integrated social activity.
  9. Work closely with campaign teams to find synergies and efficiencies across editorial and campaign social programs.
Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of experience in developing and executing social media strategies for an agency or brand, with a focus on integrated paid, owned, and earned approaches.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful social media campaigns that achieve marketing objectives.
  • Strong understanding of social media analytics and reporting tools (e.g., Sprout Social, Hootsuite) and familiarity with paid advertising platforms (e.g., Facebook Ads Manager, Google Ads).
  • Experience in influencer identification, engagement, and campaign management is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive social media strategies that align with business goals in collaboration with Strategy and Planning.
  • Identify target audience segments and tailor strategies to engage these demographics effectively, with platform-specific recommendations.
  • Develop best practices for planning an integrated POE approach across XFN at Google and partner agencies.
  • Provide strategic input to drive better cohesion between local market xPA social activations across POE, including conflict management, consumer experience considerations, and PA alignment for key cultural moments.
  • Establish measurement, learning agendas, and KPIs for social media activations, partnering with analytics to bridge the relationship between owned, boosting, and paid activities.
  • Provide POV on creator/influencer strategies across PAs, both in-campaign and long-term, throughout the marketing calendar.
Trend Monitoring:
  • Stay updated on the latest social media trends, tools, and best practices.
  • Develop and recommend test-and-learn plans with new platforms, features, and content formats.
  • Incorporate emerging trends into the social media strategy across OPE to keep Google culturally relevant.
Analytics and Reporting:
  • Track and analyze social media performance using tools like Brand Watch, Google Trends, on-platform ad manager tools, and Sprout Social.
  • Prepare regular reports detailing owned social boosting and campaign performance, insights, and recommendations, and assess their impact on the overall channel.
  • Use data to refine and optimize social media strategies continually.
