Job description

Main Purpose of Job:

The primary purpose of the role is to oversee the development and implementation of IT strategies that support business operations, enhance Partner and customer experiences, and drive innovation across our SJP Asia and Middle East (SJP AME) locations. This position is pivotal in managing and developing the IT infrastructure, systems, and support, ensuring they align with our business objectives.

The Head of IT is also responsible for cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive company and client data, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and leading a team of IT professionals made up of internal resources, external contractors and vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the SJP AME IT team, working closely with various business stakeholders to define and deliver IT strategies, roadmaps, budgets, and action plans.
  • Act as the key contact for relevant location and leadership meetings, including taking on regulatory responsibilities for technology where appropriate.
  • Manage relationships within the Group and with external vendors to deliver high-quality, responsive service to Partners and employees.
  • Provide input and support for IT projects initiated and driven by the Group.
  • Research new technologies and utilize in-depth knowledge across multiple areas of technology to provide oversight and solutions that improve efficiency.
  • Deploy a consultative approach to the development and rollout of IT projects with key stakeholders across the Partnership.
  • Ensure the reliability and scalability of IT systems to support business growth.
  • Direct the planning and execution of digital projects, focusing on enhancing customer engagement and operational efficiency.
  • Advocate for cybersecurity training, awareness, and good practices.
  • Ensure robust data management and cybersecurity measures to protect company and client data and comply with industry regulations.

Requirements:

Job Knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or above in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in IT with experience in digital solutions, IT management, and digital transformation.
  • Knowledge of change management and industry best practices/standards.
  • Strong business sense and ability to communicate and influence stakeholders at all levels, effectively translating technical ideas into simple language.
  • Experience in planning and developing an annual IT budget, timeline, and resources.
  • Experience in the Financial Services industry or related sector is desirable but not required.
  • Good interpersonal, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in spoken and writing English.

People Management Responsibilities:

The role will need to manage the internal IT team and external contractors and vendors. The individual will need to allocate and coordinate work and continually review performance against SLAs.

SJP Business Expertise:

The individual will need to understand the objectives of the business and how their team integrates with others to help the business achieve these objectives. The individual will also need to gain a broad range of operational knowledge across SJP, with a thorough understanding of the culture, business model and relationships with vendors.

Nature and Scope of Impact:

The job will have an impact on a wide range of teams across SJP AME and the performance of the Partnership. The quality and timeliness of the services provided closely relate to the work of others and impact on the effectiveness of the business.

Special Requirements:

The individual may be required to travel across Asia, the Middle East and to the UK and work out of hours for delivery of projects.
