Job description

We are looking for a highly motivated Social Media Specialist to join our dynamic digital team. You will play a key role in managing and growing our social media presence across various platforms. As a Social Media Specialist, you should showcase strong communication skills and a keen understanding of social media trends. You will collaborate with our editorial and creative teams to create engaging content, monitor audience interactions, and analyze performance metrics. Ultimately, you should contribute to increasing engagement, driving traffic, and maintaining a positive relationship with our audience.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of proven experience managing social media accounts for a media company or similar industry.
  • Proficiency in using Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, and emerging platforms.
  • Experience with social media management tools, such as Onlypult, Sprout Social, or Hootsuite.
  • Copywriting skills for compelling posts, headlines, and campaigns.
  • Familiarity with performance reports, such as Google Analytics, Meta/X/TikTok/YouTube insights.
  • Strong understanding of social media trends, algorithms, and best practices for a media audience.
  • Time management and multitasking skills for managing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with editorial, creative, and marketing teams.
  • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced and dynamic media environment, including occasional evenings or weekends for breaking news or events.
  • Familiarity with media-specific content, such as journalism, entertainment, or news.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing successful social media campaigns or projects.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Google Analytics, Social Media Marketing) are a plus.
  • Strong skills in creating engaging multimedia content (e.g., Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro) are a plus.
