Job description

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Operational Manager to join our team full-time at ara Design in Bali, Indonesia. This role is ideal for someone with a strong sense of structure, systems thinking, and a hands-on approach to streamlining workflows in a creative studio environment.

As our Operational Manager, you will work closely with the Director and design team to optimize internal processes, implement project management systems, and develop clear SOPs that support the company’s ongoing growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze current workflows and identify opportunities for greater efficiency and clarity
  • Lead the implementation of project management software (e.g., Monday.com) and ensure adoption across the team
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for internal operations and project coordination
  • Coordinate team schedules, project timelines, and weekly staff meetings
  • Monitor progress across multiple design projects and help resolve operational bottlenecks
  • Support recruitment processes and HR coordination together with the Office Manager
  • Assist with office administration and operational tasks to ensure smooth day-to-day functioning

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an operational or project management role, ideally within a creative or design-focused environment
  • Strong project coordination and system implementation skills
  • Proficient in tools like Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and project management platforms such as Monday.com, Notion, or Asana
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Highly organized, process-driven, and detail-oriented
  • Experience in the interior design or architecture industry is a plus
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, design-led studio environment
