A leading company in transformer manufacturing is seeking a Test Quality Control & Quality Process Engineer. This role involves ensuring product compliance with international standards through rigorous testing and quality monitoring. The ideal candidate will have a background in electrical engineering and extensive experience in quality assurance. As a Test Quality Control & Quality Process Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that transformers meet the required technical and quality standards throughout the production and testing stages. Your role will cover both process quality monitoring during manufacturing and final testing of transformers according to IEC, ANSI, and customer-specific standards. This role is key in maintaining product reliability and customer satisfaction.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Test & Quality Control (QC):
Conduct routine, type, and special tests on distribution/power transformers, including:
Insulation Resistance Test (Megger)
Applied and Induced Voltage Tests
No-load and Load Loss Tests
DC resistance, Impedance, and Short-Circuit tests
Operate and maintain testing equipment safely and efficiently.
Prepare and review test reports and certificates based on international standards (e.g., IEC 60076, ANSI C57).
Assist during Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) with customers.
Identify, document, and report any non-conformities found during final testing.
2. Quality Process Control:
Monitor quality at each production stage:
Core assembly
Winding process
Tank fabrication and assembly
Oil filling and vacuum drying
Perform in-process and final inspections to ensure product compliance.
Implement and maintain SOPs, Work Instructions (WI), and Inspection & Test Plans (ITP).
Check quality of incoming materials (QC Incoming) and components.
Support root cause analysis (RCA) and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
Ensure compliance with quality standards like ISO 9001, and assist in internal and external audits.
Promote continuous improvement across production and testing areas
Qualifications:
Education:
Diploma (D3) or Bachelor’s Degree (S1) in Electrical Engineering (Power System / High Voltage specialization )
Experience:
5+ years of experience in transformer testing or quality assurance preferred
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of transformer structure and function
Familiar with IEC 60076, ANSI C57, or equivalent standards
Able to operate and interpret data from transformer testing equipment
Capable of reading and understanding electrical and technical drawings
Soft Skills:
High attention to detail and strong analytical thinking
Good communication and teamwork
Knowledge of 5S, Lean Manufacturing, or Kaizen is a plus
Willing to work in a high-voltage test environment with strict safety procedures
