As a Customs Management professional at PT BQPLUS MEDICAL DEVICES, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless import and export of medical equipment. This full-time position is based in Surabaya, East Java, and involves overseeing all aspects of customs compliance and logistics to support the company's growth and expansion in the region. Additionally, you will assist the Quality Assurance staff from HQ in auditing the factory partner in Indonesia to ensure compliance.
What you'll be doing
- Liaising with customs authorities to facilitate the timely clearance of imported goods;
- Reviewing and processing all necessary documentation for import and export activities;
- Monitoring changes in customs regulations and adapting procedures accordingly;
- Coordinating with logistics providers to optimize transportation and delivery of goods;
- Maintaining accurate records and reporting on customs-related activities;
- Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance;
- Providing guidance and training to the team on customs-related matters;
- Conducting audits of production records and quality inspection reports from suppliers at the Indonesian factory to ensure adherence to GMP standards;
- Overseeing traceability management for the entire process of supplier production documentation to ensure compliance with local registration and licensing requirements;
- Assisting Chinese colleagues with business trips to Indonesia, managing cross-language communication and coordination between Chinese colleagues and Indonesian factories to ensure accurate information transfer and efficient collaboration;
- Performing additional tasks related to customs, logistics, and quality assurance as reasonably requested by management.
What we're looking for
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a customs management or logistics role, preferably within the medical/healthcare industry;
- In-depth knowledge of import/export regulations, customs procedures, and documentation requirements;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with customs authorities and stakeholders;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to resolve customs-related issues;
- Proficiency in relevant software tools and IT systems used in customs and logistics management;
- Fluency in Chinese, English, and Indonesian;
- Tertiary qualification in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
