SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER

Required, to be assigned on a contract basis located in Semangke + Jakarta, Indonesia.

POSITION SCOPE

Reporting to the Business Unit General Manager, responsible for the overall planning, execution, and completion of the palm oil refinery project in Sumatra. This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in managing large-scale industrial projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Project Planning & Coordination
   • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation.
   • Coordinate with stakeholders (engineering, procurement, construction, etc.) to ensure alignment with project objectives.
2. Execution & Monitoring
   • Oversee all aspects of project execution, ensuring adherence to plans and schedules.
   • Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
3. Quality & Compliance
   • Ensure all project activities comply with industry standards, local/federal regulations, and project-specific requirements.
   • Conduct regular inspections and audits to maintain quality and compliance.
4. Risk Management
   • Identify and assess project risks, developing mitigation strategies to minimize impact.
   • Maintain a risk register and ensure proactive management of potential issues.
5. Cost Management
   • Manage project budgets, preparing cost reports and forecasts.
   • Identify opportunities for cost optimization while maintaining project quality and schedule.
6. Stakeholder Communication
   • Maintain regular communication with project stakeholders, providing updates on progress, risks, and issues.
   • Facilitate meetings and presentations to ensure transparency and alignment.
7. Documentation & Reporting
   • Maintain comprehensive records of all project activities, including daily logs, change orders, and as-built drawings.
   • Prepare and present monthly project reviews to senior management.

EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

• Profile: With an engineering background, at least 10 years of successful field experience in electricity, instrumentation, and industrial project management, gained in an energy production environment, with experience managing large teams (700 to 1000 on-site personnel).
• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years managing large-scale industrial projects, preferably in the refinery sector.
• Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Thorough understanding of relevant safety and environmental standards.
• Project Management: Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and experience coordinating multiple contractors.
• Ability to take on new challenges, demonstrating strong technical sensitivity, interpersonal skills, analytical thinking, anticipation, negotiation, organizational skills, commercial acumen, and responsiveness.
