Job description

The QC Inspector is responsible for ensuring all valves produced meet industry standards and customer specifications through rigorous inspection and testing procedures. This role plays a critical part in maintaining product quality, minimizing non-conformities, and upholding compliance with standards like API, ASME, and ISO.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform in-process, final, and incoming inspections of valves and components (e.g., gate, globe, check, ball valves).
  2. Check dimensions, tolerances, and surface finishes using precision instruments (Vernier, micrometer, height gauge, etc.).
  3. Conduct hydrostatic, seat leakage, air, and functional tests as per API 598 / API 6D standards.
  4. Interpret and verify engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  5. Identify, document, and report non-conformances (NCRs); coordinate with production for corrective action.
  6. Prepare and maintain inspection reports, calibration records, and quality documentation.
  7. Ensure proper calibration and usage of inspection tools and gauges.
  8. Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and QA teams for quality improvement initiatives.
  9. Participate in internal audits and supplier evaluations as required.
  10. Maintain strong knowledge of valve types, functions, and manufacturing processes.
  11. Familiarity with international standards: API, ASME, ISO, ASTM.
  12. Proficiency in using precision measurement tools.
  13. Good understanding of material certifications, MTCs, and QMS procedures.
  14. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (GD&T knowledge preferred).
  15. Strong attention to detail, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  16. Basic computer skills (MS Excel, Word, ERP or QMS software).
Qualifications
  1. Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  2. Minimum 2–5 years of experience as a QC Inspector in a valve or related industry (pressure equipment, piping, etc.).
  3. Certification in NDT (Level II PT/UT/RT/MT) is a plus.
  4. Familiarity with API 598, API 6D, ASME B16.34, ISO 9001:2015.
  5. Ability to work in China.
  6. Fluent in English and Mandarin.
