Seedworld Studios is seeking a Senior or Middle Technical Artist with strong expertise in Unreal Engine, focusing on animation systems and environment/asset integration. The candidate will be responsible for implementing and optimizing animations, diagnosing technical issues in Blueprints, and supporting asset and environment integration within the engine to ensure efficient, high-quality game production. The Technical Artist will collaborate closely with artists and programmers to optimize assets and pipelines, implement technical art features, develop tools and workflows, and perform debugging on tools and processes.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and maintain advanced production pipelines and workflows
- Develop and enhance tools for artists to improve their workflow
- Work with Art Leads, Technical Directors, and QA to ensure asset conformity to technical and artistic standards
- Utilize the latest tools and methods to improve graphical workloads
- Share best practices, conduct training sessions, and mentor team members
- Integrate, validate, and optimize graphic data in the engine, using scripts when necessary
- Fix graphic bugs according to priority and provide support to other artists
- Produce and maintain documentation on tools, methods, training, and engine constraints
- Lead QA efforts to ensure assets are optimal, bug-free, and ready for shipping
- Act as the gatekeeper of Technical Art constraints, balancing visual quality and performance
- Perform optimization and profiling to ensure peak performance across platforms, especially next-gen
Qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge in game development: Modeling & Texturing, Scripting/Tools Development, Lighting, Shaders (PBR/GLSL/HLSL), VFX, Post Processing, Rigging, and Animation
- Strong understanding of the Graphic Rendering Pipeline for next-gen technologies
- Experience with Unreal Engine is essential; experience with other engines is a bonus
- Experience with performance profiling and optimization tools
- Proficiency in Source Control (Perforce, Git)
- Technical background in art production workflows, with programming knowledge (Python, Unreal Script, C++/C#)
- Knowledge of UI Development for Tools (QT, WPF) is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Expertise in 3D software (Maya, 3DS Max, Houdini, Blender, Motion Builder)
- Eagerness to learn and implement new next-gen technologies
