Job description

MidPlaza Holding is seeking a highly motivated MEP & HVAC Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems for our construction projects. You will work closely with project managers, architects, and contractors to ensure that MEP systems meet project specifications and adhere to regulatory standards. The ideal candidate should have a strong technical background in MEP engineering, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Performing fundamental calculations for MEP system requirements
  • Understanding customer needs, including budget and timeline
  • Creating design concepts for the MEP system while considering efficiency and operational reliability
  • Providing a design concept brief (Terms of Reference) to the MEP consultants
  • Developing a schedule for the completion of MEP design drawings
  • Coordinating design efforts with architects, interior designers, structural engineers, and landscape professionals
  • Providing a set of MEP design drawings to the in-house Quantity Surveyor or QS consultant as a reference for Bill of Quantities (BQ) calculations
  • Providing outline specifications for MEP equipment to the QS as a reference for vendor quotations
  • Reviewing MEP shop drawings from contractors


Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the same field, with prior experience in consulting preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
  • The engineer must be able to identify problems and provide solutions
  • Proficient in calculations, criteria, design standards, and MEP system concepts
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and basic AutoCAD
  • Responsible, loyal to the company, and possesses a strong desire to learn
  • Detail-oriented in performing tasks
  • Capable of communicating effectively with clients, especially in clearly explaining design concepts
  • Able to lead and motivate MEP drafters, including setting targets and expectations
  • Capable of providing solutions under pressure
  • Able to manage time effectively to meet project deadlines
  • Collaborative and maintains good relationships with coworkers
