Job Description

Administration

  1. To ensure IT activities are aligned with the Corporate Accounting Strategy and Hotel Actions have been implemented where appropriate.
  2. To represent the IT function on the hotel's Executive Committee.
  3. To oversee the preparation and update of individual Departmental Operations Manuals.
  4. To conduct regular divisional communications meetings and ensure departmental briefings and meetings are effective and conducted as necessary.

Customer Service

  1. To monitor that all hotel employees deliver the brand promise and provide exceptional guest service at all times, providing positive and constructive feedback as necessary to the respective Head of Department.
  2. To ensure employees also provide excellent service to internal customers in other departments as appropriate.
  3. To handle all guest and internal customer complaints and inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, following through to ensure problems are resolved satisfactorily.

Operational

  1. Ensure that all computer technology equipment runs with minimum or no down time.
  2. Ensure that all software runs with no output error, response time problems, and according to specifications.
  3. Provide written monthly reports as per specifications issued.
  4. Solve technical or operational problems as per specifications issued.
  5. In cooperation with other department heads, design, document, and implement new computer-based procedures.
  6. Coordinate the installation of new applications, including new software releases, within the specified time.
  7. Coordinate the installation of new software and hardware release levels for all computer technology.
  8. Review all new software development specific to the hotel. After consulting with the Area and Information System Coordinator, decide whether to program the application in-house or through a third party.
  9. Monitor all computer technology contracts and supervise the activities of outside maintenance personnel when they visit the hotel.
  10. Act as the primary contact for all outside agents regarding computer technology matters.
  11. Ensure all 24-hour systems (e.g., front office, telephones, point of sales) are attended to quickly, and problems are resolved promptly.
  12. Comply with company policies related to the security and operation of computer systems.
  13. Train and assist staff in all aspects of their skills and responsibilities.
  14. Identify and train appropriate shift personnel to resolve minor problems.
  15. Maintain forms and supplies, including a spare parts inventory for all computer system-related items.
  16. Set up and document procedures related to security, system shutdowns, emergencies, operator entries, etc.
  17. Stay updated with trends and technical information in hotel computer technology through self-training, trade literature, and trade shows.
