Nurses are primarily responsible for providing individualized outpatient, inpatient, and ICU care for guests and crew. They act as first responders, triaging emergency calls, assessing and treating on scene, and transferring patients to the shipboard medical center for definitive care. Using specific patient group directives, nurses can practice autonomously under the supervision of doctors, assessing patients and providing treatment and advice for specific conditions.
In addition to response duties, nurses work closely with shipboard doctors in daily walk-in clinics. They perform various technical and administrative tasks supporting the medical center's efficient and safe operation under the Senior Nurse's supervision. These tasks include equipment checks, medicines and inventory management, participation in drills, audits, inspections, and training crew members. Technical skills such as X-ray acquisition and performing laboratory tests are learned and practiced onboard.
All medical staff are expected to provide high levels of customer service, maintaining a professional, friendly, and respectful manner towards guests and crew, aligning with the organization’s Vision, Mission, and Strategic Plan.
