Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site position for an Early Childhood Educator at Middleton by EtonHouse Preschool Surabaya. Responsibilities include implementing the inquiry-based "Inquire-Think-Learn" curriculum, fostering creativity, working with children, and maintaining an organized learning environment. The role involves providing a nurturing and stimulating educational experience for young children.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Pre-school Director and Principal, the Class Teacher will be expected to:

1. Develop and deliver child-centered learning activities, including planning and preparation.
2. Use appropriate teaching and caring methods to ensure high-quality learning.
3. Provide planning documents with specific learning objectives, differentiated tasks, and assessments.
4. Act as a facilitator in the classroom, encouraging respect and concern for others, fostering a caring community.
5. Manage the classroom environment, ensuring resources are well-labelled, accessible, and the room is tidy and inviting.
6. Create an engaging classroom that promotes independent learning and aesthetic appeal.
7. Collaborate with the Pre-school Director and staff on assessment procedures and portfolios.
8. Maintain records of student achievement and provide progress reports.
9. Build positive relationships with parents through various communication methods and parent meetings.
10. Guide and motivate classroom helpers.
11. Participate in the Primary Preparation Program (PPP) for Kindergarten students, scheduled 1-2 times weekly.
12. Complete documentation timely, as per the school calendar.
13. Participate in school events and committees.
14. Achieve learning goals and complete internal checklists for each student.
15. In case of force majeure or pandemic, lead online classes, possibly two classes simultaneously, with adapted documentation and planning.
16. Maintain responsibilities during online learning, including planning, documentation, and attending meetings.
