Job description

Financial Planning & Analysis: Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes to ensure alignment with corporate goals. Prepare comprehensive financial reports for senior management and stakeholders, including analysis of competitors’ financial reports.

Accounting & Compliance: Manage all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and the general ledger. Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).

Financial Reporting: Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports. Analyze variances and recommend corrective actions. Prepare reports for regulatory authorities as required.

Cash Flow & Working Capital Management: Monitor and manage cash flow, optimize working capital, and recommend strategies to improve liquidity and financial efficiency.

Internal Controls: Implement and monitor internal financial controls over expenses, assets, and financial data to ensure accuracy and minimize risks.

Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of finance and accounting professionals, fostering their development and maintaining high-performance standards.

Internal Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments (Operations, HR, Sales) to support business decisions with financial insights and recommendations.

Regulation Update and Implementation: Stay updated on new regulations and policies; ensure their implementation by mitigating risks, proposing solutions, and coordinating with relevant parties.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CPA) is advantageous.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in finance or accounting, with at least 2 years in a managerial role, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Strong skills in financial reporting, budgeting, analysis, strategic thinking, and collaboration, especially in pharmaceutical or consumer health industry.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, Excel) and financial management tools; knowledge of IFRS and Nigerian accounting standards is preferable.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Placement: Nigeria, Africa (or willingness to relocate).
