Job Description:
- Monitor par levels of all lockers within the relevant working areas, ensure sufficient supplies for the Stateroom Host, arrange collection of general store items as per schedule, and distribute items to lockers. Complete and submit weekly supply requisitions for approval.
- Inform the Executive Housekeeper of guest-related issues, resolve them according to Viking’s STAR Service Standards, and follow up on special guest requests.
- Ensure all logs are signed and up-to-date in designated housekeeping areas. Follow up on and track all special cleaning tasks, including cleaning of curtains, carpet shampooing, furniture sanitation, and shower head cleaning.
- Regularly inspect housekeeping areas, guest staterooms, public areas, corridors, and lockers to ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and health regulations. Report and correct any damages or malfunctions.
- Lead and support a multicultural team, maximizing crew satisfaction, productivity, and retention.
- Hold daily team meetings to provide feedback, operational updates, and ensure adherence to Viking’s STAR Service Standards.
- Maintain high standards of comfort, cleanliness, and hygiene in all areas, managing service flow during embarkation, disembarkation, sea days, and activities.
- Provide leadership to direct reports, including performance reviews, discipline, training, succession planning, communication, and recognition, ensuring compliance with Maritime Labor Convention (MLC).
- Always wear appropriate PPE and use correct lifting techniques to prevent injuries.
- Uphold grooming standards as per Viking’s Image and Uniform Standards.
- Secure company property, especially during rough weather, to prevent loss or damage.
- Demonstrate flexibility by working different shifts, managing pressure positively, and representing Viking professionally.
- Ensure team knowledge of itinerary ports, shore excursions, and shipboard activities.
- Contribute to achieving housekeeping KPI goals related to quality and financial performance.
- Be knowledgeable about safety, security, health, and environmental policies; participate in training, inspections, and emergency exercises.
