About Our Client

My client is a leading law firm in Indonesia, known for its expertise in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, banking and finance, and dispute resolution, serving both domestic and international clients.

Job Description

  • Advisory Work:
    • Provide expert legal counsel to clients on competition law compliance, including merger control, cartel behavior, abuse of dominant position, and pricing practices.
    • Assist clients with antitrust risk assessments and strategies to ensure they comply with Indonesian and international competition laws.
    • Advise on corporate transactions, such as mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and partnerships, focusing on antitrust issues and regulatory filings.
  • Regulatory Affairs:
    • Represent clients in investigations by competition authorities, such as the KPPU, and provide strategic guidance on responding to inquiries or investigations related to anti-competitive conduct.
    • Prepare and submit merger filings to regulatory bodies, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and advising clients on the potential regulatory hurdles of mergers and acquisitions.
    • Assist clients in negotiations with authorities, including settlements and compliance commitments.
  • Litigation and Dispute Resolution:
    • Handle competition law disputes, including defending clients in antitrust litigation before courts and regulatory bodies.
    • Represent clients in antitrust investigations, including addressing allegations of price-fixing, market allocation, or abuse of market dominance.
    • Assist in the preparation of legal submissions, appeals, and defenses in competition law matters.
  • Business Development:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, regulators, and government bodies.
    • Contribute to the firm's growth by identifying new business opportunities in the competition law sector and expanding the firm's client base.
    • Engage in thought leadership activities, including writing articles, giving talks, and contributing to seminars on competition law topics.

The Successful Applicant

  • 8-12 years of PQE in Competition Law.
  • Strong experience and understanding of Indonesian competition laws and regulations, particularly KPPU rules and processes.
  • Proven ability to handle complex competition law matters, including regulatory investigations, mergers, and litigation.
  • Established connections with government bodies, particularly KPPU, and a good reputation within the competition law community.
  • Strong business development skills and the ability to grow a practice area.
  • Fluency in both English and Bahasa Indonesia is required.
