A leading company in the power plant sector seeks an EPS Design Manager to lead electrical power systems projects. The role involves managing project execution, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and driving project success. Job Summary:
The EPS Design Manager is responsible for leading and managing the electrical power systems (EPS) projects from tendering through execution, ensuring compliance with technical and commercial requirements. This role involves overseeing project quality, procurement, and cash flow planning, while implementing and improving electrical equipment and systems. The Head of EPS ensures adherence to industry standards and customer specifications, driving project success and contributing to the company's growth in the power plant and transmission/distribution sectors.
Responsibilities
Project Management and Execution:
Manage projects to meet budget and schedule requirements.
Oversee procurement of materials, equipment, and services to meet contract requirements.
Prepare project reports and assist with cash flow planning.
Assess project situations and determine necessary actions (strategies/corrective actions) against economic situations, current risks, and deviations.
Ensure application of quality procedures during project execution.
Conduct field surveys and write reports regarding existing and potential electrical engineering studies and projects.
Technical and Commercial Review:
Participate in upstream commercial and technical aspects during tendering and sales activities.
Review contracts, including technical and commercial aspects, project calculation sheets, and project schedules.
Prepare Project Quality Plans as guidance during project execution.
Design, implement, maintain, and improve electrical equipment and systems for company purposes.
Operate computer-assisted engineering and design software, including AutoCAD 2009 (mandatory) and Etaps (optional).
Familiarize with electrical single-line diagrams and detailed circuit or schematic diagrams.
Perform detailed calculations to establish manufacturing, construction, and installation standards and specifications.
Prepare specifications for the purchase of materials and equipment.
Prepare and study technical drawings and specifications of electrical systems to ensure installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements.
Coordination and Compliance:
Direct and coordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements.
Experience in power plant or transmission/distribution projects with PLN, within tender preparation and project execution.
Education:
Minimum: Bachelor’s degree (S1) in electrical engineering studies from a reputable university
Desirable: MSc in electrical engineering or a related area
Pre-requisite: Have full working rights for Indonesia
Experience: Minimum five (5) years of proven experience in the same field and company’s business line
Technical Skills (knowledge):
Proficient in AutoCAD.
Proficient in Microsoft Office including MS Project.
Fluent in English, both oral and written.
Proficiency in analysing and modelling electrical power systems to ensure stability, reliability, and efficiency.
Expertise in analysing the parameter coordination of protective relays with upstream and downstream sides to protect the electrical power systems from faults and ensure safety of the human and equipment.
Ability to design and supervise the construction of medium voltage and low voltage distribution systems, ensuring efficient power delivery.
Strong familiarity with standards, codes, and regulations related to electrical power systems for compliance of the equipment, installation, and operation to ensure safety of operation and quality of products.
Ability to effectively communicate technical information and prepare the engineering documentations and technical reports
Knowledge of designing substations, including layout, equipment selection, and integration with the overall power system.
Knowledge of ISO & OHSAS is an advantage.
Project Management.
Knowledge in hydro turbines and generators, including their auxiliaries.
Knowledge in electrical equipment design in power stations.
Understanding of BIM would be advantageous but not mandatory
