Job description

Marine Engineer for Surveyor and Adjuster

Reporting to the head of Marine Cargo Department, the Marine Surveyor & Adjuster investigates insurance claims on behalf of the insurer. They conduct on-site surveys and review supporting documents of damaged objects to obtain all necessary facts once a claim is logged.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct investigations on hull, machinery, and cargo damages.
  • Attend cargo, hull, and damage surveys as required.
  • Prepare attendance advice, preliminary reports, and final survey/adjustment reports promptly and according to SOP guidelines.
  • Attend risk management surveys when needed and ensure timely reporting per SOP.
  • Be available for surveys outside regular hours, including weekends and public holidays, and report movements when working outside the office via text or email daily.

Requirements:

  • Possess Marine Engineer (minimum ATT-II) qualification from STIP (Merchant Marine Higher Education).
  • At least 2 years' experience as a Second or First Engineer onboard a vessel.
  • Proficient in English.
  • Team player, willing to travel throughout Indonesia, especially to remote areas, and flexible with working hours.
  • Computer literate, adaptable to tight deadlines, and capable of remote and desk-bound work.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, self-motivated, dynamic, and proactive.

This role involves a mix of desk-bound and remote working.
