Job description

We are a prominent distributor of valves and actuators based in Bekasi, Indonesia. We are dedicated to delivering high-quality products and solutions to our clients in the industrial sector. To enhance our sales functions, we are seeking an experienced Senior Sales Engineer to manage the external sales process. In this role, you will work closely with the Director of Sales to streamline these essential functions.

Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven External Sales Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for hunting new business opportunities, meeting with prospective and existing customers, and providing technical expertise to address customer inquiries.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Actively prospect and generate new leads to expand the customer base within the assigned territory.
  2. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  3. Conduct sales visits and presentations to potential clients to showcase product offerings and technical capabilities.
  4. Collaborate with internal teams to provide technical support and solutions to customer inquiries and requirements, and to complete the sales order process.
  5. Manage customer inquiries via face-to-face meetings, phone, email, and other communication channels.
  6. Deliver technical proposals, quotations, product/sales information, and solutions to customers in a timely manner.
  7. Stay updated on industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities.
  8. Achieve sales targets and objectives set by the sales management team.
  9. Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to promote brand awareness and network with potential customers.
  10. Support the sales director and operations director with sales-related requirements.
  11. Perform any other work as assigned by the sales director for the business.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Proven experience in sales, preferably within the industrial or technical products/services sector.
  3. Experience in selling industrial valves, actuators, or related products is a plus.
  4. Ability to convert sales leads into actual sales contacts for the company is a plus.
  5. Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts effectively to customers.
  6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with customers.
  7. Self-motivated and goal-oriented, capable of working independently and in a team.
  8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or CRM software.
  9. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
  10. Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia, both spoken and written, is mandatory.
