Job Title: Finance Cost Analyst

Please review the details of the FINANCE COST ANALYST position.

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Cost Analyst to join our Finance Department in Batam. The role involves supporting Open Book Costing for the Power and Electric Vehicle (EV) Business.

The Cost Analyst will report to our Finance Controller in Batam.

PT. Volex Indonesia provides high-quality electrical and optical connection solutions worldwide. We collaborate closely with our customers throughout their product development cycles to design, develop, and manufacture connection solutions tailored to their specific needs. Based in the UK, our company has been established in Batam since 1992, employing over 2,800 local staff.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Analyze inventory carrying costs and identify procedures to optimize freight and inventory expenses.
2. Conduct breakdown analysis on FPO and identify cost reduction opportunities.
3. Prepare and maintain open book costing for customer quotes promptly.
4. Coordinate with internal teams (Sourcing, Quote Team, Engineering) to expedite quotation processes.
5. Create accurate costing worksheets reflecting each cost component based on assumptions for management review.
6. Develop and implement documentation, processes, and procedures to ensure compliance and consistency.
7. Interpret costing sheets from RFQ team and analyze variances with relevant teams.
8. Perform detailed analysis of historical pricing, BoM, cycle times, and margin trends, including product and price changes across multiple quotes.
9. Maintain key performance measures and tracking systems for quotes.
10. Build strong relationships with R&D, Finance, Operations, and management.
11. Undertake other projects or tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Data Analytics, Data Science, or related fields.

Required Skills:

• 3-5 years of experience in a similar environment.
• Strong analytical, financial, and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a positive teamwork attitude.
• Fluent in English; proficiency in Mandarin is a plus.
• Comfortable communicating across regional teams.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency in Excel, including complex formulas, macros, and BI tools.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with cross-functional teams across time zones.
• Background in Costing or RFQ environments is advantageous.
• Business analytics, programming, or advanced MS Office skills are a plus.
• Possession of a professional license such as CPA or Chartered Accountant is a plus.
