Job Overview:

The E&I Production Engineer applies their conceptual knowledge of Production and, with moderate guidance from colleagues and leadership, is responsible for solving straightforward Production problems. They analyze possible solutions using standard procedures, gaining knowledge of the company, processes, and customers. The engineer understands key business drivers and applies this knowledge to resolve simple issues by leveraging technical experience, judgment, and precedents.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience in oil and gas with a major contractor or consultant
  • Familiar with API RP2A, AISC, and AWS standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to production processes and facilities

Responsibilities:

  • Review project scope, schedules, and specifications to understand requirements and deliverables
  • Prepare Scope of Work and Task Listing
  • Review fabrication schedules and suggest improvements to the planning team
  • Review drawings for constructability and identify special items or subcontract requirements
  • Monitor monthly material reports and address issues with material delivery
  • Review material requisitions before ordering
  • Check grade and plate sizing assumptions
  • Initiate site queries for material substitutions
  • Provide field guidance and ensure compliance with company specifications
  • Participate in production meetings and report concerns
  • Monitor scope changes and revision orders
  • Report weekly fabrication progress and track production man-hours and productivity
  • Review four-week look-ahead plans and identify constraints such as materials or drawings
  • Coordinate with construction engineers to ensure timely procedure issuance and understanding of changes
  • Manage subcontract scope as needed
  • Review as-built drawings
  • Coordinate material movements within the yard
  • Work with shop and erection planning to adhere to the project plan
  • Approve fabrication drawings and review Work Pack deliverables according to Work Pack Index
