Drafter - Structural

As Structural Drafter, this person will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and plans, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company specifications. This role involves working within the engineering team to finalize the detailed design for the Process Expansion Project. The Drafter is responsible for providing multi-discipline drawings including Civil, Structural, and Mechanical in this diverse role.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Create technical drawings and plans as directed including 2D & 3D models.
2. Apply established engineering principles and standards in the design and preparation of drawings.
3. Prepare material take-offs from drawings as required.
4. Collaborate with engineers, area managers, and other stakeholders to ensure designs meet project requirements.
5. Review and revise existing drawings and plans as needed.
6. Ensure all designs comply with relevant standards and regulations.
7. Utilize drafting software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar industry-standard CAD software.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

1. Relevant certification or degree in drafting, engineering, or a related field.
2. Strong knowledge of drafting software (Autodesk - AutoCAD, Navisworks, etc.).
3. Proven experience as a draftsperson (+5 years’ experience) preferably in the mining industry.
4. Strong conceptual thinking and analytical skills.
5. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
6. Excellent problem-solving abilities and a focus on continuous improvement.
7. Proficient skills in MS Word, Excel, email (Microsoft Outlook) & Teams.
