As we expand our operations, we are seeking a competent and experienced Docking Manager to lead our docking and undocking operations.

Job Overview:

The Docking Manager at Noahtu Shipyard will play a pivotal role in overseeing the docking and undocking processes of vessels, ensuring they are conducted safely, efficiently, and according to industry standards. This role requires a blend of leadership, technical expertise, and operational acumen to manage dock utilization effectively and optimize project timelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Docking Planning and Coordination: Develop comprehensive plans for docking and undocking operations, considering vessel specifications, dock availability, manpower, and project requirements. Coordinate closely with project managers to align docking schedules with project milestones.
  • Resource Management: Allocate resources efficiently, including personnel, equipment, materials, and services, to support docking and undocking activities. Monitor resource utilization and optimize workflows to enhance productivity.
  • Vessel Preparation: Collaborate with vessel owners, captains, and maintenance teams to ensure vessels are adequately prepared for docking. Coordinate ballasting, de-ballasting, hull inspections, and necessary repairs to facilitate smooth docking operations.
  • Safety and Compliance: Uphold strict safety protocols and regulatory compliance standards during docking and undocking activities. Conduct safety briefings, risk assessments, and audits to mitigate hazards and ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to uphold the integrity and quality of docking operations. Conduct inspections, oversee repairs, and ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with port authorities, maritime agencies, classification societies, and other stakeholders to obtain necessary permits, approvals, and clearances for docking activities. Foster positive relationships and resolve any issues or concerns in a timely manner.
  • Emergency Response and Contingency Planning: Develop contingency plans for emergency situations, such as adverse weather conditions or equipment failures, to minimize disruptions and ensure operational continuity. Conduct drills and training exercises to prepare personnel for emergency scenarios.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of docking operations, including vessel movements, work progress, safety incidents, and resource utilization. Prepare comprehensive reports for management review and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
