A luxury resort company is seeking a Director of Human Resources for their new opening on Belitung Island. In 2026, the first The Serai Hotel & Resorts, the new luxury lifestyle brand of GHM, will be opening on the island of Belitung in Indonesia.
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Human Resources to join our pre opening and opening team. Responsible for leading the overall human resources function of the hotel, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training & development, compensation & benefits, compliance, and organizational culture.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement HR strategies that support the hotel’s business objectives.
Serve as a strategic advisor to the General Manager and Executive Committee on all people-related matters.
Promote a positive work culture aligned with the hotel's brand values.
Oversee end-to-end recruitment processes from sourcing to onboarding.
Ensure hiring of qualified and culturally fit candidates to meet operational needs.
Maintain effective talent pipelines for key positions.
Design and implement training programs to enhance employee skills, service quality, and leadership development.
Conduct training needs analysis in collaboration with department heads.
Monitor and report training hours and effectiveness.
Foster open communication and handle employee concerns with professionalism and fairness.
Manage grievance and disciplinary procedures in accordance with labor laws and hotel policies.
Lead employee engagement initiatives, surveys, and recognition programs.
Oversee the performance appraisal process and ensure alignment with business goals.
Support managers in setting KPIs, conducting evaluations, and implementing performance improvement plans.
Monitor salary structures and benefits programs to ensure competitiveness and equity.
Oversee payroll administration (in coordination with Finance) and ensure accurate records.
Ensure compliance with local labor laws, company policies, and brand standards.
Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
Liaise with government and legal bodies as required.
Collaborate with department heads to ensure a safe and healthy working environment.
Implement employee assistance and wellness programs.
Qualifications Required:
Pre Opening and opening experience is highly regarded.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent preferred.
Minimum 5–8 years of finance leadership experience in hospitality or related industry. S
Strong knowledge of hotel accounting systems (e.g., SunSystem, Opera, Micros, etc.).
Experience with budgeting, financial modeling, audits, and regulatory compliance.
Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
