In 2026, the first The Serai Hotel & Resorts, the new luxury lifestyle brand of GHM, will be opening on the island of Belitung in Indonesia.
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Finance to join our pre opening and opening team. Responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the hotel, ensuring strong financial performance, accurate reporting, and compliance with regulatory requirements and brand standards. This role provides strategic financial leadership to support business decision-making and long-term profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead all hotel finance functions including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with company and local accounting standards.
Analyze financial data to support strategic and operational decision-making.
Coordinate and manage the preparation of the hotel’s annual budget and rolling forecasts.
Monitor performance against budget and identify variances with explanations and corrective actions.
Ensure all financial procedures comply with internal policies, local laws, and relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, PSAK).
Implement and monitor internal control systems to safeguard hotel assets and ensure accuracy in financial transactions.
Manage external audits and statutory reporting requirements.
Oversee hotel cash flow, banking, and working capital.
Manage hotel assets, depreciation schedules, and capital expenditure (CAPEX) tracking.
Lead and develop the Finance & Accounting team (GL, AR, AP, Income Audit, Purchasing, etc.).
Ensure accurate, timely work and continuous training to improve efficiency and skills.
Work with procurement to ensure competitive vendor pricing and cost-saving initiatives.
Monitor inventory control, cost of goods sold (COGS), and spending efficiency in all departments.
Advise the General Manager and department heads on financial implications of business decisions.
Contribute to business strategies including pricing, revenue management, and profitability analysis.
Qualifications Required:
Pre Opening and opening experience is highly regarded .
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent preferred.
Minimum 5–8 years of finance leadership experience in hospitality or related industry.
Strong knowledge of hotel accounting systems (e.g., SunSystem, Opera, Micros, etc.).
Experience with budgeting, financial modeling, audits, and regulatory compliance.
Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
