Job summary

Meinhardt Indonesia is seeking a Director - Electrical Engineering to lead and strengthen the Electrical Engineering capability within the firm in Jakarta. Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognised university; Master's degree or professional qualification advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Electrical Engineering discipline and provide overall technical direction across projects.
• Review and approve electrical design concepts, calculations, specifications, drawings and technical reports.
• Lead activities from Concept to Tender Documentation through Construction Support.
• Provide technical leadership for MV/LV power distribution, transformers, generators, UPS, lighting, earthing and lightning protection, power quality and ELV interfaces.
• Review key engineering calculations including load assessment, cable sizing, voltage drop, short-circuit analysis, protection coordination and system capacity studies.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable IEC, NFPA and relevant international standards.
• Lead multidisciplinary coordination with Mechanical, Piping & Fire, Structural, Architectural, BIM and Project Management teams.
• Provide senior input for Data Centres, commercial buildings, hospitals, high-rise developments, industrial facilities and other complex building projects.
• Lead technical discussions with clients, developers, architects, contractors and international project teams.
• Support proposals, technical submissions, fee planning and resource allocation for new and ongoing projects.
• Review design risks, value engineering opportunities and technical solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop, mentor and manage Electrical Engineers, Senior Engineers and BIM/design teams.
• Maintain engineering quality, technical governance and consistency across the Electrical discipline.

We are looking for an experienced Director - Electrical Engineering to lead and strengthen our Electrical Engineering capability within Meinhardt Indonesia.

This is a senior leadership role for an accomplished Electrical Engineer with a strong background in Building Services / Engineering Consultancy, combining deep technical design expertise with leadership, client management and multidisciplinary project delivery.

The successful candidate will be expected to provide technical direction across complex building and infrastructure projects, develop engineering standards, mentor senior engineering teams and ensure the quality of Electrical Engineering deliverables from concept through detailed design and construction support.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Electrical Engineering discipline and provide overall technical direction across projects.
• Review and approve electrical design concepts, calculations, specifications, drawings and technical reports.
• Lead electrical engineering activities from Concept / Schematic Design, Design Development, Detailed Engineering Design and Tender Documentation through Construction Support.
• Provide technical leadership for MV/LV power distribution, transformers, generators, UPS, critical power systems, lighting, earthing and lightning protection, power quality and ELV interfaces.
• Review key engineering calculations including load assessment, cable sizing, voltage drop, short-circuit analysis, protection coordination and system capacity studies.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable SNI, PUIL, IEC, NFPA and relevant international engineering standards.
• Lead multidisciplinary coordination with Mechanical, Plumbing & Fire, Structural, Architectural, BIM and Project Management teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognised university. A Master's Degree or professional engineering qualification would be advantageous.
• Extensive professional experience in Electrical Engineering, preferably 15+ years, with significant senior-level responsibility.
• Strong and proven experience working within a Building Services / Engineering Consultancy environment is essential.
• Demonstrated hands-on background in electrical design and engineering calculations, not solely construction, maintenance or project supervision.
• Strong experience delivering multidisciplinary building projects from early-stage design through detailed design and construction.
• Experience in Data Centre / Critical Infrastructure projects would be highly advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of MV/LV systems, critical power infrastructure and applicable international electrical standards.
• Proven ability to review, challenge and approve engineering calculations and design deliverables prepared by engineering teams.
• Strong leadership, commercial awareness and client-facing capability.
• Excellent communication and multidisciplinary coordination skills.
• Good command of professional English, both written and spoken.
