Job description

Meridia is an AgTech company specialized in field data within complex smallholder-heavy agri-commodity supply chains such as cocoa, coffee, palm oil, rubber, and soy.

Meridia Verify, its flagship SaaS product, verifies supply chain field data in real-time – and validates compliance with frameworks such as the EUDR (EU Deforestation Regulation). With Verify, companies can reduce commercial and reputational risk, minimize supply chain disruption, and accelerate evidence-based decision-making for strategic sourcing, procurement, and trade.

Meridia’s mission is to improve the veracity of datasets driving decision-making in global agri-commodity supply chains. Its purpose is to build transparent and inclusive supply chains that afford smallholders a level playing field.

About the Program

As part of our consulting projects, we design a smallholder digital community extension program to strengthen the commodity supply chain in Indonesia. The program introduces a scalable, farmer-centered engagement model through co-created digital content, peer-to-peer farmer gatherings, and AI-powered coaching tools. By working closely with farmer champions, the program generates short, impactful stories and practical knowledge that inspire adoption of better practices among thousands of coconut farmers.

The Role

We are seeking a full-time Digital Content & Community Specialist who will coordinate content co-creation with farmers, adapt materials for digital channels, and manage online farmer communities. This position will be a hybrid between remote work and fieldwork. As a Digital Content and Community Specialist, you will be based in Indonesia and will work closely with our teams in Indonesia. You will report to the Country Manager in Indonesia.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Facilitate co-creation of short-form videos and audio testimonials with farmer champions and local storytellers.
  • Scout, engage, and mentor local creators (farmer leaders, youth, or community communicators) to develop authentic digital content.
  • Provide guidance to farmers and local creators on storytelling, simple recording techniques, and message clarity.
  • Edit and adapt co-created content into short (<3 minutes), engaging formats optimized for mobile viewing.

The candidate will also:

  • Manage and moderate the program’s digital channels (WhatsApp Communities, Facebook, YouTube).
  • Ensure respectful, inclusive, and productive discussions among farmers online.
  • Respond to farmer queries, share relevant updates, and guide members toward verified resources.
  • Track and analyze engagement data to improve platform activity and community trust.
Requirements

The ideal candidate has:

  • Experience in digital content coordination, community management, or communications (video, audio, or visual storytelling).
  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms (WhatsApp, Facebook, YouTube), preferably including analytics and moderation.
  • Skills in text writing, photography, basic videography, and editing (CapCut, Adobe Premiere, Canva).
  • Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia; knowledge of local dialects (Javanese and Sundanese) preferred.
  • Ability to engage rural communities and enable co-creation and local storytelling.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in communications, digital media, or community engagement.
