Job description

Summary of Working Duties:
The Design Technician will work closely with the Design Headquarters to ensure that design artwork and plate-making files are prepared correctly for smooth use by the plate-making house. The role includes making adjustments to artwork when necessary.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Check plate-making files to ensure all required files are correctly placed on the plate-making file server.
  2. Adjust or modify artwork elements based on customer requests.
  3. Handle remote proofing when needed, generate plate-making layouts and rasterized files, and participate in the first commercial printing start-up verification.
  4. Manage the Production Blue Envelope and printing master samples.
  5. Collaborate with the Design Headquarters to conduct periodic printing fingerprint updates.
  6. Perform other tasks as assigned by the direct supervisor.

Qualifications:

  1. College degree or higher, with a major in Printing and Packaging Engineering, Graphic Design, or a related field.
  2. Proficient in prepress design software.
  3. Basic proficiency in English communication, with the ability to discuss design tasks.
  4. Proficient in using Illustrator and Photoshop.
  5. Experience with Esko software and systems (e.g., DeskPack or PackEdge) is a plus.
