Data Scientist - Financial Services

Lentera Inspirasi Pembiayaan (LIP), an entity of Flip, is building the fairest and most customer-centric multi-finance platform in Indonesia.

We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist that will support the risk department by structuring and organizing data, designing efficient reporting frameworks, and enabling streamlined data management processes. This role is critical for providing accurate, timely, and actionable insights to the risk team and ensuring data integrity across all reports and analyses. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data structure, reporting automation, and analytics within a financial or multi-finance environment.

Key Responsibilities:

What You'll Do

1. Define problems and hypotheses, develop recommendations and decision support tools to increase business value.
2. Mine and analyze data from company databases to drive optimization and improvement of product development and business strategies.
3. Be able to clearly communicate findings and ideas to technical or non-technical teams in Indonesian and English.
4. Be a part of the product team to monitor and measure the business impact of data science product implementation.
5. Accomplish comprehensive documentation for end-to-end process of the data science life cycle.

What You'll Need

1. Have a minimum of 5 years of experience manipulating data sets, building statistical models, and drawing insights to increase business value.
2. Have experience processing text and time series data into meaningful business insights.
3. Have end-to-end experience working on classification and regression use cases.
4. Fluency in Python, the Python Data Science toolkit, and SQL.
5. Familiarity with GCP or AWS ecosystem.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Domain knowledge in credit scoring, risk profiling, or underwriting in the multi-finance industry.
2. Experience with tools for working with “big data” (BigQuery, Spark, Hadoop, etc.)
