About the Role:
We are looking for an experiencedData Migration Engineerto lead and execute complex, large-scale data migration from a legacy system to our new platform. This role requires a deep understanding of data structures, transformations, and migration strategies to ensure accuracy, consistency, and minimal business disruption.

This is a mission-critical role for ensuring data quality and integrity in our transformation journey.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and manage large-scale data migration projects from legacy to modern systems.

  • Analyze complex relational data models and create clear data mapping documentation.

  • Develop and optimize robust ETL/ELT pipelines using appropriate tools and technologies.

  • Cleanse, transform, and validate large datasets to ensure accuracy and consistency pre- and post-migration.

  • Identify and resolve data inconsistencies, gaps, and performance bottlenecks during migration.

  • Work cross-functionally with product, engineering, QA, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and validate results.

  • Build migration audit trails and rollback procedures to support safe and traceable data transitions.

  • Provide post-migration support, including monitoring, validation, and issue resolution.

  • Document migration processes, scripts, mapping logic, and QA procedures clearly.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Experience in data engineering, ETL development, or data migration projects.
  • Proven experience with large data migrations involving complex schema relationships and business rules.
  • Proficient in SQL and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
  • Experience with ETL tools such as Talend, Informatica, Apache NiFi, or custom scripting frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of relational and non-relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB)
  • Comfortable working with millions of records and optimizing performance in data pipelines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to data quality, completeness, and integrity.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.


Good to have
  • Experience in educational systems, ERP/CRM migration

  • Familiarity with API-based data extraction/integration.

  • Knowledge of data governance, compliance, and privacy standards (e.g., PDPA, GDPR).

  • Familiarity with cloud services like AWS, GCP, or Azure for data storage and migration.
