Job Description
Project Planning and Management
Collaborate with stakeholders to define the project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
Budgeting and Cost Estimation: Prepare project budgets, track expenses, and ensure the project stays within budget.
Scheduling: Develop and manage project timelines, ensuring milestones are met on time.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks to the project and develop mitigation strategies.
Resource Allocation: Oversee resource planning, ensuring adequate staffing, equipment, and materials are available.
Technical Design and Implementation
Work with architects and engineers to design technical infrastructure for the data center, including servers, network equipment, power systems, and cooling systems.
Ensure all systems (network, electrical, HVAC) are integrated properly for efficient functioning.
Prepare technical documentation such as design specifications, wiring diagrams, system configurations, etc.
Ensure that all systems meet the required quality standards and specifications.
Vendor and Stakeholder Coordination
Vendor Management: Liaise with vendors and suppliers to acquire necessary equipment and services on time.
Stakeholder Communication: Regularly update senior management and clients on project progress, potential issues, and timelines.
Contract Negotiation: Assist in negotiations with third-party contractors, suppliers, and consultants.
Installation and Commissioning
System Installation: Oversee the installation of server racks, networking equipment, cooling systems, and electrical setups.
Commissioning: Ensure all systems are tested and functional after installation, including hardware and software.
Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve any technical issues during the installation and commissioning phase.
Compliance and Standards Adherence
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all project activities adhere to local regulations, industry standards, and best practices, including data security and privacy standards.
Quality Control: Monitor ongoing work to ensure compliance with internal and external quality control standards.
Safety Protocols: Maintain a focus on safety, ensuring adherence to health and safety guidelines on site.
Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams
Cross-Department Coordination: Work closely with other departments (IT, Operations, Facility Management, etc.) to ensure smooth project execution.
Problem-Solving: Collaborate with different teams to resolve any unforeseen technical or operational issues that arise.
Testing, Monitoring, and Maintenance
Testing: Ensure all systems are thoroughly tested for performance, security, and reliability.
Monitoring Systems: Monitor the performance of data center infrastructure during and after project implementation.
Ongoing Maintenance: Provide technical support and maintenance for existing data center systems as needed.
Post-Project Review and Reporting
Project Handover: Ensure a smooth handover of the completed project to operations teams or clients.
Post-Implementation Review: Conduct reviews to assess the project's success, identify any issues, and document lessons learned for future projects.
Reporting: Provide detailed reports to stakeholders on the project's performance and final outcomes.
Continuous Improvement
Process Optimization: Identify and suggest improvements in project management processes and technical implementations for future data center projects.
Training and Development: Provide training to internal teams or clients on new systems, processes, and technologies as part of the project handover.
The Successful Applicant
Minimum a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or IT.
Basic understanding of Data Center operations, including infrastructure, security, and maintenance workflows.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing documents and administrative tasks.
Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders, including internal teams and external vendors.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and documentation tools.
Good communication skills and ability to work in a structured environment.
