Job summary

Amazon Web Services is seeking a Data Center Construction Project Manager to oversee day-to-day construction activities, manage contractors, and lead multiple data center projects across sites. You will ensure safety, quality, and budget adherence while collaborating with engineering teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in design and construction management.
• Experience in project management of mission-critical facilities.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings for all disciplines.
• Experience forging new design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment/mass production.
• Stakeholder management experience.

Responsibilities

• Project management and oversight of construction-related activities for new builds or general capital projects, owning scope, timeline, and budgets.
• Drive cost reductions and schedule improvements while maintaining quality.
• Provide construction management for initiatives aimed at increasing data center resiliency.
• Review constructability of electrical and mechanical systems and building designs for new data centers or optimizations of existing ones.
• Create project scope, equipment requirements, assist with requests for proposals, and prepare capital requests.
• Oversee commissioning, integrated system testing, and project execution quality.
• Issue and manage the Request for Information process during construction and coordinate construction administration with engineers.
• Record and report key metrics to team members and management.
• Simultaneously manage multiple projects, including new data center construction and capital improvement projects on existing sites.
• Provide operational support of installed facilities, reviewing procedures, best practices, and maintenance initiatives.
