Details of the Division and Team:

This role provides analysis of risks for a specific risk type (e.g. Credit, Market, Liquidity, Operational) and independently assesses material risks and/or key controls (as required), providing challenge where needed. They monitor risk exposures and performance or key risk metrics, using and reviewing the risk type methodologies and supporting development of these where appropriate. Role holders also support decision-making and approvals around risks and preparation of key risk documentation and reports. For Credit Risk: determines risk / return ratio and associated limit framework on client level lean risk transactions and assigns / approves credit ratings makes decisions and approvals based on their allocated authority level.

Your key responsibilities:
  • This is a credit risk management role (2nd line of defense) and part of regional team with opportunity to support the wider South East Asian team.
  • Responsibility for the management of credit risk across all counterparty types including corporate, financial institutions and non-bank financial institutions. Predominantly for Indonesian Groups but there would be opportunities to support the broader South East Asia region as well.
  • Conduct independent due diligence on counterparties, including financial analysis, preparing credit reports. Perform approvals of credit limit if it is within delegated credit authority and recommendation/presentation to higher authority holders (including credit committee) for bigger credit limit ask.
  • Identify early warning signals on counterpart level and assess global, regional and local market events/trends and their impact on the portfolio of counterparties managed.
  • Interface directly with front office staff across all business divisions locally and regionally (e.g. global markets, trade finance, corporate finance, structured credit) in order to make credit decisions across wide spectrum of products including loan (plain vanilla and structured), trade finance and derivatives (equity / debt; financial markets).
  • Ensure proper credit terms are incorporated in trading documents, confirmations and other relevant documents.
  • Daily control and exposure management of credit facilities, including follow up on trade execution, booking, credit limit implementation, reporting and monitoring (including local regulatory tasks).
  • Work with internal operations teams to ensure accuracy of information in global risk reporting systems.

Your skills and experience:
  • Proficient in credit risk assessment accumulated through reputed financial institutions (preferably foreign), including analysis, approval / recommendation of transactions.
  • Strong technical & analytic skills, risk judgment. Meticulous and organized.
  • Good understanding of key banking products - financings, trade finance and global markets (FX/rates/commodities/equities/collateralised transactions/structures).
  • Understanding of Indonesia large local corporates, banks, financial markets, financing structures and regulatory framework (OJK) highly preferred.
  • High Fluency in English (both written & verbal). Business level command of Bahasa.
  • Graduate degree in business/finance major or relevant professional qualification (e.g.CA / CFA / MBA / FRM). Completion of CFA level 1 or higher would be favorably considered.
  • Ability to adapt under pressure and comfortable with cross-border interactions with seniors in regional head office.
  • Familiarity with legal documentation negotiation and risk issues (e.g. ISDA and Loan Agreement) and credit mitigating measures, highly advantageous.
  • Prior experience in foreign institutions or credit approval highly advantages but not essential.
  • Ability to deal professionally and independently with front-office staff and to a lesser extent external clients.
  • Team oriented, flexible, diligent and self motivated.

  • Demonstrate a sound judgment of Risk / Return in arriving at credit decisions / recommendations in order to achieve the overall portfolio strategy and objectives of the Bank.
  • Effective resolution of conflicting views with Business in a constructive and professional manner, maintaining the Bank's underwriting standards, at the same time supporting the Business to achieve agreed targets.
  • Minimize credit losses through active monitoring and sound credit decisioning
