The Credit Manager plays a vital role in managing the hotel's credit operations by establishing effective relationships with colleagues and ensuring the collection of revenue within agreed timelines through diligent credit control.

What will I be doing?

As a Credit Manager, your responsibilities include:

  1. Conducting credit investigations to assess customer creditworthiness.
  2. Ensuring accounts receivable are current and following up on overdue accounts.
  3. Maintaining good relations with hotel customers, including wholesalers, corporate clients, guests, travel agents, and others.
  4. Reviewing supporting documents and verifying receivables accuracy.
  5. Providing timely provisions for bad debts and managing arrears recovery.
  6. Reporting any adverse credit information promptly.
  7. Reporting to the General Manager and/or Director of Finance on credit and collection matters.
  8. Ensuring credit application forms are approved and updated annually.
  9. Supervising credit staff to ensure effective performance.
  10. Maintaining and enforcing the credit policy.
  11. Collaborating with Accounts Receivable to follow up on overdue accounts.
  12. Making timely collection calls, documenting, and following up monthly.
  13. Scheduling and conducting monthly credit meetings.
  14. Monitoring debtor days and ensuring they stay within acceptable ranges.
  15. Preparing documentation for allowances and journal vouchers related to receivables.
  16. Ensuring accurate entry and timely closing of accounts.
  17. Proactively following up on outstanding accounts to prevent losses.
  18. Preparing reports on accounts receivable.
  19. Alerting sister hotels about bad debt accounts.
  20. Processing sundry payments made by credit card.
  21. Maintaining an organized filing system.
What are we looking for?

The ideal candidate:

  • Has a university degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Management; certifications like ACCA or CPA are preferred.
  • Has at least 3 years of experience in the hotel or hospitality industry, especially in managerial accounting roles.
  • Is fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Has good relationships with local banks and government agencies.
  • Possesses strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Is proficient in Microsoft Office and systems like OnQ, Check SCM, SUN, OPERA/OnQ PMS, MICROS, HRLINK.
