About Our Client

We are partnering with a globally renowned pharmaceutical company to appoint a Corporate Communications & Government Affairs (Head) to join their leadership team in Indonesia.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic corporate communications plans to support business objectives, promote company reputation, and ensure alignment with global brand and messaging.
  • Lead corporate reputation-building initiatives, including sustainability campaigns, community outreach, and public policy positioning, to enhance stakeholder trust and brand equity.
  • Serve as the company's lead spokesperson, managing media relations, press engagement, and crisis communications with speed and sensitivity.
  • Oversee government affairs strategy, including regulatory engagement, stakeholder mapping, and maintaining trusted relationships with policymakers, ministries, local regulators, and industry bodies.
  • Proactively manage policy advocacy efforts by identifying regulatory risks/opportunities, crafting strategic positions, and influencing the external environment in alignment with business goals.
  • Engage with industry associations, NGOs, and key opinion leaders to build coalitions, gather market intelligence, and shape the company's policy and public affairs agenda.
  • Partner closely with regional and global teams to ensure consistent messaging, brand alignment, and responsiveness to global corporate directives.
  • Lead the development of digital communications strategies, including social media campaigns, executive visibility, and digital storytelling that resonate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing Corporate Affairs team, fostering cross-functional collaboration with internal departments including Legal, Compliance, Marketing, and HR.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the President Director and executive leadership, providing counsel on reputational risks, public perception, and external communication strategies.


The Successful Applicant

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in Corporate Communications, Government/Public Affairs, or External Relations within highly regulated industries, ideally in pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or life sciences.
  • Proven leadership experience, with a successful track record of managing teams and influencing senior internal and external stakeholders at national and regional levels.
  • Strong understanding of the regulatory landscape in Indonesia, including experience engaging with government bodies, health authorities, industry associations, and NGOs.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute high-impact advocacy and stakeholder engagement strategies, including policy shaping, coalition building, and risk mitigation.
  • Exceptional communication skills (written, verbal, and visual), with experience handling media relations, crisis communication, and executive-level messaging.
  • Solid grasp of digital communication platforms, including corporate use of social media, digital storytelling, and influencer engagement to drive public perception.
  • Experience leading sustainability, ESG, or corporate social responsibility initiatives is highly advantageous.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a matrixed, global environment, effectively collaborating with regional and global corporate affairs teams.
  • Strategic thinker with high emotional intelligence, business acumen, and the ability to operate with agility, discretion, and cultural sensitivity.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Political Science, Public Policy, International Relations, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
