We’re hiring a Construction Project Coordinator to Live. Work. Explore. at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon!

Job Summary:

Assist in the daily functions of project management related to Maintenance, Engineering, and departmental projects.

The Details:
  • Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round
  • Pay: $18.70 per hour
  • Housing: A private room in a shared apartment, $267/month, payroll-deducted
  • Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in planning, designing, bidding, and executing new construction, remodels, and equipment installations, using contractors or company staff.
  • Assist with compliance measures, administrative requirements, and mitigation for maintenance and engineering projects at the South Rim.
  • Work closely with the Engineering Senior Project Manager and NPS staff on projects, attend Pre-Construction Meetings, and act as Xanterra Representative as needed.
  • Support the Project Manager with assigned duties.
  • Ensure projects comply with all relevant laws and regulations, including safety, environmental, and accessibility standards.
  • Maintain project schedules, logs, and documentation, including photos and reports.
  • Conduct inspections during construction and document findings.
  • Coordinate operational impacts of construction with affected departments.
  • Assist in executing capital, maintenance, and deferred projects, maintaining financial records.
  • Provide data on project equipment to the CMMS manager.
  • Keep accurate project documentation, including scopes, bids, contracts, and permits.
  • Comply with sustainability policies and procedures.
  • Fulfill Manager on Duty responsibilities, including being on-call for emergencies and guest issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Experience in construction project management or related knowledge.
  • Basic understanding of physical plant operations (boilers, generators, pumps, etc.).
  • Ability to read construction drawings and plans.
  • Knowledge of construction, mechanical, and trade skills and codes.
  • Project management experience, including estimating and contracts.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, CMMS, and engineering software.
  • Knowledge of environmental, safety, and risk management laws.
  • Physical ability to tour sites, climb ladders, and enter confined spaces.
  • Valid Arizona Driver’s license within 90 days, per company policy.
