Job description

CONSTRUCTION MANAGERrequired to be assigned on a contract basis located in Semangke + Jakarta, Indonesia.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Planning & Coordination

  • Collaborate with project stakeholders (engineering, procurement, quality, etc.) to develop and refine E&I project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Participate in design reviews, providing constructability insights and ensuring alignment with overall project objectives
On-Site Construction Management
  • Supervise electrical and instrumentation teams (contractors, subcontractors, and internal staff) (around 700 people at peak) to ensure adherence to project specifications, timelines, and budget constraints.
  • Oversee installation of electrical systems, control panels, instrumentation devices, and related infrastructure, ensuring quality and compliance with design documents.
Quality & Compliance
  • Verify that all E&I installations meet industry standards, local/federal regulations, and project-specific requirements.
  • Conduct routine inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety and quality guidelines.
Safety Leadership
  • Implement and enforce site-specific EHS protocols, coordinating with safety officers to conduct toolbox talks and risk assessments.
  • Address potential hazards proactively and ensure that proper lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures are followed.
Cost & Resource Management
  • Monitor and manage construction budgets, preparing cost reports and forecasting for E&I scope.
  • Identify opportunities for cost optimization while maintaining project quality and schedule.
Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all E&I construction activities, including daily logs, change orders, and as-built drawings.
  • Provide regular updates to project manager on progress, potential risks, and mitigation strategies.


EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Profile: With an engineering background, you have at least 10 years of successful field experience in electricity, instrumentation, and industrial construction, gained in an energy production environment and complemented by experience in managing large number of people (700 to 1000 people on site).
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of construction management for electrical and instrumentation projects, preferably in the industrial or refinery sector.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of electrical systems, instrumentation, PLC/DCS systems, control loops, and low/high voltage installations.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Thorough understanding of relevant safety and environmental standards.
  • Project Management: Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and experience coordinating multiple contractors.
  • Ready to take on new challenges, you possess strong technical sensitivity, excellent interpersonal skills, analytical and ties, anticipation, negotiation, and organizational skills, a qualitative commercial sense, and strong responsiveness.
