Job summary

Flex Batam is seeking a Commodity Analyst Indirect to support our procurement and supply chain teams. You will develop sourcing strategies, assess commodities, and negotiate with approved suppliers to secure favorable terms and cost savings.

We value candidates with a bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of relevant experience, plus strong English communication and proven program management and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, recommend, and execute optimal sourcing strategies for certain items.
• Develop a technical, statistical and fundamental assessment for each commodity.
• Manage cash negotiations and secure advantageous supplier agreements.
• Negotiate terms for annual and multi-year purchase commitments.
• Coordinate transportation mode selection to lower delivered costs while maintaining quality.
• Cost management, reduction, and cost avoidance.
• Manage inventories for strategic commodities to avoid extra cost or shortages.
• Evaluate commodity risk positions across the organization.
• Develop plans for cost savings, synergies, quality improvements and supply chain efficiencies.
• Evaluate hedge effectiveness and calculate cost savings and avoidance.

Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Commodity Analyst Indirect located in Flex Batam.

What a typical day looks like

• Responsible for the development, recommendation, and execution of optimal sourcing strategies for certain items.
• Develop a technical, statistical and fundamental assessment for each commodity.
• Manage cash negotiations and secure advantageous commercial agreements with approved suppliers.
• Negotiate terms and conditions for annual and multi-year purchase commitments.
• Coordinate selection of transportation modes and carriers which will result in lowering the delivered costs of materials while assuring continuity of quality supply, flexibility to respond to changing requirements and maintenance of vendor relationships for long term benefits.
• Cost Management/Reduction/Cost Avoidance.
• Manage inventories associated with the strategic commodities to avoid additional expense or shortage to the company.
• Evaluation of commodity risk positions reported to multiple levels of the organization.
• Develop plans resulting in cost savings, synergies, quality improvements and supply chain efficiencies.
• Evaluate hedge effectiveness and calculate cost savings and avoidance.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team

Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and equivalent experience. At least 3 years’ of relevant work experience or with materials buyer experience. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
