PT Kapal Api Global is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Research & Development Lead (managerial level) to drive innovation across our coffee portfolio by developing and improving coffee and coffee-based products, ensuring they meet quality standards, consumer expectations, and market trends.

Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will transform ideas into market-ready products while driving continuous improvement and innovation throughout the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Chemistry, Biotechnology or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Research & Development within the food and beverage industry, preferably coffee.
• Knowledge of product development, formulation, manufacturing processes, and regulatory registration (BPOM).

Responsibilities

• Develop coffee blends and improve products to meet market trends and consumer preferences.
• Perform sensory evaluation, cupping, and validation activities for raw materials, blends, and finished products.
• Prepare and maintain R&D documentation, including raw material specs, product descriptions, trial reports, and formulation records.
• Manage new product registration activities, including regulatory documentation, packaging compliance, and BPOM registration monitoring.

We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Research & Development Lead (managerial level) forour company. In this role, you will support innovation across a diverse coffee portfolio by developing and improving coffee and coffee-based products, ensuring they meet quality standards, consumer expectations, and market trends.

Working closely with cross‑functional teams, you will play a key role in transforming ideas into market‑ready products while driving continuous improvement and innovation throughout the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Coffee Blend Development & Product Optimization: Develop and evaluate coffee blends, flavor profiles, and product concepts based on market trends and consumer preferences, while continuously improving existing products through formulation and process optimization.
• Sensory Evaluation & Validation : Perform sensory evaluation, cupping, and validation activities for raw materials, coffee blends, and finished products.
• R&D Documentation: Prepare and maintain R&D documentation, including raw material specifications, product descriptions, trial reports, and formulation records.
• Product Registration & Compliance: Manage new product registration activities, including regulatory documentation, packaging compliance, and BPOM registration monitoring.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Chemistry, Biotechnology or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Research & Development within the food and beverage industry, preferably in coffee categories.
• Strong understanding of product development, formulation, manufacturing processes, and scale‑up activities.
• Hands‑on experience in coffee evaluation, including blending, cupping, sensory assessment, and raw material evaluation.
• Knowledge of food regulations, BPOM registration, packaging compliance, and export requirements.
• Analytical, detail‑oriented, and collaborative, with strong communication skills in both Indonesian and English.
