Job description

As a Coal Trader, you will take on a key role in expanding the company's trading activities by leveraging your existing network of international buyers and ensuring seamless execution of transactions. This position is best suited for someone with hands-on experience in coal trading and proven relationships with end-users such as power plants in Korea, Japan, or other international markets. You will be directly responsible for managing client accounts, negotiating contracts, and driving profitable growth in a competitive global market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, manage, and grow direct relationships with international buyers and end-users, including utilities and industrial clients.
  • Independently execute coal sales and purchase transactions, including negotiation of terms, pricing strategies, and delivery arrangements.
  • Conduct in-depth market research to identify trading opportunities, monitor supply-demand dynamics, and anticipate price movements.
  • Ensure smooth end-to-end trading operations, including drafting and reviewing contracts, coordinating shipments, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams (logistics, finance, and operations) to deliver accurate and timely execution of trade deals.
  • Provide market insights and contribute to the development of trading strategies to maximize profitability.
  • Build and maintain strong long-term client partnerships through excellent service and after-sales support.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, International Trade, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in coal trading or a related role (sales, sourcing, business development in the coal/energy sector).
  • Established buyer or end-user network, preferably with exposure to clients in Korea, Japan, or other key markets.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills with a proven ability to close deals.
  • Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and English; proficiency in Japanese or Korean is a strong advantage.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic trading environment.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required.
