Job description

5+ years of experience in designing and administering big data platforms, with a minimum of 4+ years in Cloudera CDP architecture and administration.

Strong technical expertise in Cloudera CDP (Private Cloud Base, Public Cloud, or On-Prem), Cloudera Manager, and Hadoop ecosystem components such as HDFS, YARN, Hive, Impala, HBase, Kafka, Oozie, Spark, and Ranger.

Proficiency in Linux system administration and scripting languages including Shell, Python, or Ansible.

Experience architecting secure and scalable platforms utilizing Kerberos, TLS/SSL, Ranger, and integrating with Identity Providers like LDAP and SSO.

Strong knowledge of resource planning, cluster sizing, capacity forecasting, and performance tuning.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with customers and vendors, present architecture designs, and explain complex technical concepts clearly.

Fluent in English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities:

• Design and architect enterprise-grade solutions using Cloudera CDP (Public Cloud, Private Cloud, or On-Prem).
• Provide deep technical leadership in Cloudera administration, including hands-on experience with HDFS, Hive, Impala, Spark, HBase, Kafka, YARN, Oozie, and Ranger.
• Define and implement data platform architecture, including multi-tenant architecture, high availability, disaster recovery, and security best practices.
• Lead or guide installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching processes.
• Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams to ensure automated deployment and CI/CD pipelines for Cloudera services.
• Ensure strong governance, authentication, and authorization, including setup of Kerberos, Ranger policies, LDAP/AD integration, and encryption at rest/in transit.
• Work closely with data engineering teams to support optimized data pipelines, performance tuning, and workload management.
• Evaluate and implement monitoring, alerting, and logging frameworks for cluster health, security, and compliance.
• Act as technical liaison with Cloudera support/principal, and lead complex troubleshooting or RCA efforts.
• Present architecture recommendations to stakeholders and guide customers through technical decision-making.
