Our client is a leading multinational coal mining company primarily involved in coal mining operations in Kalimantan Utara.
About the role:
Reporting to the Head of Department CHP-Shipping, this position is responsible for improving operational support infrastructure for mining (mining roads, bridges, water channels, jetty, building construction, and other operational support facilities for mining). This includes all aspects of planning, designing, and constructing or repairing a building or infrastructure project to ensure that structures and systems are assembled correctly.
Responsibilities:
- Able to evaluate and analyze the operational activity planning of the Civil Department, in accordance with the company's targets and plans.
- Ensure the assigned work complies with all the compliance requirements (e.g., basic design, company HSE and quality standards, contract procedures, project standards (quality, cost, and schedule), as well as existing codes and specifications).
- Analyze plans, survey reports, maps, and other data related to project design.
- Analyze the results of tests on soil and building materials to determine strength for foundations and other support.
- Prepare cost estimates for equipment, materials, and labor to determine a project's economic feasibility.
- Manage the construction or repair, maintenance, and replacement of buildings and infrastructure, oversee the building of structures or systems throughout a project's construction, and help with signoff and other post-construction activities.
- Ensure that work complies with safety regulations and adheres to design specifications, helping to resolve problems that may arise.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor Degree (S1) in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 7 years of experience with advanced knowledge in Civil and/or Structural Engineering within Coal and Mineral mining.
- Willing to work under a 9:2 roster setting.
- Excellent working knowledge of structural design and construction requirements.
- Capable of demonstrating analytical thinking, fit-on-purpose/practical judgment, and risk assessment.
- Capable of performing quality assurance processes, coordinating working teams, working with peers, and communicating with others.
- Capable of implementing basic application level structural engineering work which includes: site & design basis development, preliminary facilities (topsides) & structural design, foundations materials, structural design, buildings, structural calculation, structural inspection, report writing, construction & consideration, subsea (bottom mounted) facilities, operations & repairs.
- Familiar with civil work software such as AutoCAD or others.
- Experience with infrastructure projects in mining companies is a plus.
