Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mandarin Education or related field.
  • HSK Level 5 Mandarin proficiency with strong reading, writing, speaking, listening.
  • Minimum 5 years in curriculum development, Mandarin education, or academic management.
  • At least 3 years in a senior or managerial academic capacity.
  • Direct experience teaching Mandarin or developing curriculum for children.
  • Strong understanding of child pedagogy and second-language acquisition.
  • Experience in teacher training and quality assurance preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
  • Strong bilingual Mandarin/English communication.
  • Strong project management and stakeholder management skills.
  • Willingness to work on-site in Pluit, North Jakarta and travel to centers.

Responsibilities

  • Localize, review, and adapt Mandarin curriculum, lesson plans, and assessment tools for Indonesian learners.
  • Develop age-appropriate worksheets, resources, and classroom activities aligned with objectives.
  • Conduct curriculum research and recommend improvements based on pedagogy and best practices.
  • Ensure materials suit different ages and learning levels.
  • Plan, organize, and deliver teacher training programs and coaching.
  • Conduct classroom observations to evaluate teaching quality and management.
  • Provide feedback to teachers to improve effectiveness.
  • Monitor implementation across centers for consistency with standards.
  • Collaborate with regional and local stakeholders for program readiness.
  • Gather feedback from teachers, students, and parents for curriculum improvements.
  • Prepare curriculum docs, SOPs, training manuals, and performance reports.
  • Support development of QA systems and standards for the Mandarin program.
  • Coordinate timelines to complete curriculum and readiness milestones before launch.

Our client is a leading international education group specializing in literacy, language development, and early childhood education. With a strong international presence across multiple countries and regions, the organization provides structured, research-backed language and literacy programs for young learners.

In Indonesia, the organization operates a growing network of learning centers serving families seeking premium, international-standard language education. The organization focuses on delivering engaging, structured, and age-appropriate language enrichment programs designed to develop children's communication skills, reading ability, and cognitive confidence.

As part of its continued expansion in Indonesia, the organization is preparing to launch a new Mandarin Language Program for young learners. The company is seeking an experienced academic professional to lead curriculum localization, teacher development, and academic quality assurance while ensuring consistency with international academic standards.

Job Role

The Mandarin Curriculum Manager will lead the localization, adaptation, and implementation of the Mandarin curriculum for the organization's new language education program in Indonesia.

The role will work with curriculum materials provided by the regional headquarters and adapt them to suit the learning needs, cultural context, and educational environment of children in Indonesia while maintaining established international academic standards.

This position combines curriculum development, Mandarin language education, teacher training, academic quality assurance, and academic operations. The successful candidate will work closely with regional academic stakeholders and local operations teams to ensure the program is fully prepared for its planned launch in January 2027.

Key Responsibilities
  • Localize, review, and adapt Mandarin curriculum, lesson plans, teaching materials, and student assessment tools for Indonesian learners.
  • Develop age-appropriate worksheets, learning resources, interactive teaching materials, and classroom activities aligned with learning objectives.
  • Conduct curriculum research and recommend continuous improvements based on educational trends, child pedagogy, and second-language acquisition best practices.
  • Ensure curriculum materials are appropriate for different age groups and learning levels.
  • Plan, organize, and deliver teacher training programs, workshops, and professional coaching sessions for Mandarin teachers.
  • Conduct regular classroom observations and center visits to evaluate teaching quality, curriculum implementation, and classroom management.
  • Provide constructive feedback and coaching to teachers to improve teaching effectiveness and academic performance.
  • Monitor curriculum implementation across learning centers and ensure consistency with established academic standards.
  • Collaborate closely with regional academic stakeholders and local Operations teams to support the successful preparation and launch of the Mandarin program.
  • Gather feedback from teachers, students, and parents to identify areas for curriculum improvement.
  • Prepare curriculum documentation, academic SOPs, teacher training manuals, lesson guidelines, and academic performance reports.
  • Support the development of academic quality assurance systems and standards for the new Mandarin program.
  • Coordinate academic project timelines and ensure key curriculum and teacher-readiness milestones are completed before program launch.
Candidate Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mandarin Education, Chinese Language, Linguistics, Education, or a related discipline.
  • HSK Level 5 or equivalent Mandarin proficiency, with strong reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in curriculum development, Mandarin education, academic management, or a closely related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a strategic, senior, or managerial academic capacity.
  • Direct experience teaching Mandarin or developing Mandarin curriculum and learning materials for children or young learners.
  • Candidates with strong Senior Mandarin Teacher experience and hands-on exposure to lesson planning, syllabus development, or curriculum adaptation are welcome.
  • Strong understanding of child pedagogy, instructional design, classroom learning methodologies, and second-language acquisition.
  • Experience in teacher training, classroom observation, academic coaching, or quality assurance is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
  • Strong bilingual communication skills in Mandarin and English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong project management, leadership, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain consistent academic standards across multiple learning locations.
  • Comfortable working independently while coordinating with regional and local academic stakeholders.
  • Willingness to work fully on-site in Pluit, North Jakarta.
  • Willingness to travel regularly to learning centers, including Kelapa Gading and Gading Serpong, for teacher training and classroom observations.
