A leading commercial law firm in Jakarta seeks a Chief Accountant to oversee finance functions. The role requires a professional accountancy background, strong knowledge of Indonesian accounting principles, and the ability to lead a finance team in a multicultural environment. The successful candidate will manage all financial transactions, liaise with auditors, and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
We are looking for a candidate who can provide a professional service as a Chief Accountant for Jakarta associated office. The primary purpose of the role is to be responsible for the finance function of the office. This position is based in Jakarta and will work closely with the Office Managing Partner, Finance Manager - South East Asia, and other business team and lawyers in the office. To be successful in this role, you will be an all-round accountant with a good knowledge of Indonesian accounting principles and tax law.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Lead and manage the office’s finance and accounting functions, including billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable and other financial transactions
· Oversee and maintain banking relations and ensure proper handling of all banking matters and filing requirements
· Liaise with tax authorities, auditors and tax agents to ensure compliance with statutory year end audits, statutory reporting and tax filings
· Ensure accurate and timely completion of financial and management reporting, including month-end closing
· Coordinate and prepare annual budget
· Manage cash flow forecasting to support financial planning
· Review financial data and prepare monthly and annual financial reports
· Collaborate with local HR team and external service providers on payroll processing and related matters
· Provide leadership and direction to the local finance team
· Support additional tasks and initiatives assigned by the Office Managing Partner and the Finance Manager - South East Asia
REQUIREMENTS
· Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance
· Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience at the same level in multi-national companies, particularly in legal services will be an advantage
· Good interpersonal and communication skills
· Prior knowledge of payroll and individual income taxes highly desirable
· Professional and proactive manner
· Team player and flexible attitude
· Ability to work independently
