Job summary

SMA Global Darussalam Academy in Sleman, DI Yogyakarta, Indonesia, seeks a Chemistry teacher for the IB Diploma Programme (DP). You will deliver engaging HL/SL chemistry lessons, support the holistic development of students, and align with IB assessment criteria.

• Teaching qualification from an accredited institution is a plus.
• Strong written and spoken English.
• Experience teaching Chemistry in IB DP, A-Level, or equivalent international curriculum.
• Familiarity with IB DP assessment standards, IA moderation, and academic integrity policies.

Job description

Chemistry Teacher – IB Diploma Programme (DP)

Support the well-being and holistic development of students in line with the IB Learner Profile.

Deliver engaging Chemistry lessons aligned with the IB DP syllabus (HL & SL).

Conduct lessons, co-curricular activities, curriculum reviews, and exam preparation (setting, marking, moderation) in accordance with IB assessment criteria.

Guide and mentor students in the completion of Internal Assessments (IA) and Extended Essay (EE) components.

Foster a positive, inquiry-based, and interactive learning environment that encourages critical thinking.

Collaborate effectively with key stakeholders, including colleagues, parents, and the IB Coordinator.

Actively participate in school events, CAS activities, and continuous professional development workshops.

Ensure consistent assessment through standardisation and moderation in line with IB DP criteria.

Requirements:

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Education, or a related field.

A teaching qualification from an accredited teacher-training institution will be an advantage.

Strong command of written and spoken English (academic proficiency).

Experienced in teaching Chemistry at the IB DP, A-Level, or equivalent international curriculum.

Familiarity with IB DP assessment standards, Internal Assessment (IA) moderation, and academic honesty policies is highly desirable.

Strong classroom management, interpersonal, and communication skills.
