Executive Recruitment Consultant Monroe Consulting Group is working with A Prominent Hardware retailer, seeking a highly skilled and strategic Category Manager to join our client's team in Indonesia. This role is pivotal in driving category growth strategies across retail and wholesale channels, ensuring the delivery of consumer-relevant, high quality, and localized assortments for our client's global retail partners and franchisees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end category management: strategy, assortment planning, vendor selection, pricing, and retail execution.
  • Identify market trends and regional needs to develop differentiated and profitable assortments.
  • Drive private label development and enhance category profitability through cost optimization and vendor negotiations.
  • Oversee promotional planning, vendor funding, and multi-channel marketing execution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sourcing, supply chain, retail ops) to ensure operational alignment.
  • Serve as the key liaison between the local team and global merchandising functions.
  • Coach and guide local teams on merchandising best practices and tools.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Merchandising, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 5 years of business experience; at least 2 years in category or merchandising leadership.
  • Strong understanding of retail assortment strategy, vendor management, and execution.
  • Proven ability to drive results through strategic planning and implementation.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; SAP knowledge is an advantage.
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written).
