Position Summary

The Carbon Certification Specialist will play a key role in supporting the implementation of carbon projects, starting from understanding regulatory requirements and ensuring the appropriate methodology is applied, to managing project registration, and ultimately ensuring the issuance of credible carbon credits that deliver measurable environmental benefits.

Key Responsibilities

1. Review and analyse carbon-related regulations and climate policies at both the national and international levels.
2. Ensure alignment of project methodology with applicable carbon registry standards and eligibility criteria.
3. Prepare documentation for carbon project registration.
4. Manage the registration process with national and international carbon credit registries.
5. Coordinate validation and verification processes to ensure successful project certification.
6. Conduct carbon credit quantification, including baseline scenario development and MRV (Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification) planning.
7. Ensure the project generates verified and credible carbon credits that are eligible for trading and meet integrity standards.
8. Provide regular progress updates to management, including milestones such as registration status, verification outcomes, and credit issuance.

Job Requirements

Education & Experience

1. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Forestry, Environmental Science, Agronomy, or a related field.
2. Proven technical expertise or knowledge in carbon projects, particularly in pre-feasibility analysis, MRV systems, and carbon credit certification processes.
3. Experience in carbon project development, climate change initiatives, and carbon credit platforms is a strong advantage.

Technical Skills

1. Proficient in preparing technical documentation.
2. Strong ability to read and interpret technical documents in English.
3. Detail-oriented, methodical, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively.
4. Strong project coordination skills, with the ability to manage stakeholders including government entities, verifiers, and implementation partners.
5. Good communication skills in both Bahasa Indonesia and English.
